Lessons with Adam Ratner

I offer personalized guitar and music lessons for musicians looking to deepen their understanding of harmony, improvisation, and creative expression.

My teaching is rooted in years of experience as a performing artist and educator, combining a deep knowledge of jazz, Brazilian music, harmony, improvisation, and composition. Whether you're looking to explore improvisation, expand your harmonic language, refine your technique, or develop a personal sound, lessons are always tailored to your goals, background, and musical taste.

I’ve worked with students across the U.S., Brazil, and Europe — both in private lessons, teaching courses at USC Thornton School of Music, and as a guest lecturer at institutions such as BIMM Institute (UK) and Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil).
